May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
BROKENNESS AND HUMILITY THE WAY TO GREATNESS The human soul is much like an untamed stallion; majestic and powerful, but also stubborn and destructively dangerous. It has to be tamed. Someone once said, “Before God can use a man greatly, He must wound him deeply.” OUCH! Let Him bring the beauty of brokenness to your life! Brokenness is…the shattering of the self-will, the stripping of independence from God…the humbling of the heart…the decrease of self so that Christ may increase.
Are You Listening to the Spirit? Has the Holy Spirit been speaking to you? Has He tried to tenderly direct you to do something that you have ignored? When are you going to be obedient? The Bible says, “For as many are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons are God (Romans 8:14). Good sons and daughters listen to their Father and follow His instructions. The Holy Spirit is the voice of God. Have you turned a deaf ear to His voice? Let me encourage you:
How Badly Do You Want To Win? When runners run in a race, one thing is foremost in their mind-the finish line. The runner must focus his complete attention on finishing the race triumphantly. In light of winning the race, they will receive a prize. We have to run the Christian race like the runner in the race of life--consistently at a continuous pace. If we are going to run the race like God intends for us to, we must give it our full attention. We can’t start today and stop tomorrow. Once we are in the race we have to run fiercely! To stay in the race requires us to run at a steady pace.
BREAK FREE OF WORD CURSES! The gospel sets free) and I want you to be free of word curses. Proverbs 12:18 ESV There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. The “Power of Words” is the most powerful thing that man possesses, that he may use to influence others, either for good or for evil...Words. At the end of World War II, the Allies Powers sent a message to the Japanese demanding surrender. The Japanese responded with the word mokusatsu, which translates as either "to ignore" or "to withhold comment".
Press Your Way Phil. 3:12-14 We live in times when things are upside down. The pressures of life are tremendous. But this is a time for Christians to press their way. Wrapped up in the word “press” (dioko) is the idea of pressure. This word occurs three times in Philippians 3: 4-14, “dioko” describes: to follow, to pursue, to persecute, or to flee, suggesting fervent pursuit. Paul is saying that he follows after Christ in strong pursuit. In Paul’s former life, he persecuted the church with the same zeal and fervor, but now he’s following after Christ with an urgent passion. You and I should adapt this kind of passion and press in on anything that will jeopardize God’s purpose for our lives.
God has called Christians to walk by faith, not by sight. In other words, we are instructed to live upon our belief that Christ is our Savior and all we do should be by faith and not by what we see with the natural eyes. We have numerous opportunities to walk by faith. For example, let's look at the area of healing. The report of Woman on the Bible with an issue of blood in Mark chapter 5 gives us insight into the components of walking by faith and not by sight. In the natural, she was sick and there was nothing the doctors could do about it.
